University Mentorship Program

Don't just survive, thrive.

You can do great things. We're here to help.

Have An Extraordinary First Year at Western

Get your questions answered by our peer leaders before the term starts. We’ll be entirely honest about the university experience.

We want you to start your first day confident and in control.

Our three day conference in August aims to elevate and accelerate your growth. Each day has a unique theme aimed to prepare you for the four years ahead.

Day One: Connection

Day one is focused on “Connection.” You’ll build deep bonds with 100 peers and mentors, develop fast friendships, and join a community that will last for years to come.

Day Two: Challenge

Day two is focused on “Challenge.” Here, we’ll push ourselves to develop as leaders and citizens. Expect to surprise yourself, push boundaries, and walk away with skills that help you thrive throughout your degree.

Day Three: Catharsis

Day three is focused on “Catharsis.” Looking back at the past days, we'll examine motivations and values to chart a path forward. By distilling down not just who we are, but who we want to be, and the impact we want to have, we can make the most of our time on campus.

From September 2017 to April 2018, we’ll still be there. Beyond connecting you with opportunities at Western, your peer leaders will continue to check-in, encourage your growth, and help you adjust.

Whatever your goals for first year, whether it be getting involved or ace-ing your classes, the Thrive community will stand behind you.

At ThriveHere, we believe:

You are capable of great things.

We are here to help you reach your goals. Through support, opportunity, and experience sharing - we are committed to helping you get where you want to go.

Community matters.

The friends you make, and the mentors you meet, will have a massive impact on your trajectory. They certainly have for us. That's why we are connecting you with motivated peers, and some of Western's best mentors.

Students know best.

Other students understand the challenges present in first year in a way university staff do not. Our program is designed by students, for students - to make sure you have the skills and knowledge you need.

Challenge facilitates growth.

Nothing worth doing comes without discomfort. ThriveHere provides a safe environment for you to push outside your comfort zone, develop as a leader, and grow in ways that aren't possible inside a lecture hall.
